Barry Warne

Born in England and emigrated to Canada in 1957. I have lived and worked in several parts of this country enjoying the natural beauty of each. Married to Marie who is my unfailing source of encouragement. We have raised three children who have given us grandchildren to enjoy. We now reside in the Peace River country of Alberta and call it home, which it surely is.

I am a self taught artist and have worked mainly in oils and acrylics, with acrylics being my prefered choice at present. I paint for my own enjoyment and relaxation, rather than for fame and fortune. I also enjoy working with wood. So the making of picture frames enhances my paintings and keeps my costs under control at the same time.

Inspiration for my art is all around me and etched in my memory of other places and time. There is no lack of things to paint. However expressing ones feeling on canvas is often very elusive at times. With the compleation of each picture I believe the artist leaves a little of him or herself within the painting.
